FOUNDER STORY

Reasons for Seasons grew out of a deeply personal journey through burnout, exhaustion, and the quiet realisation that the way many of us are taught to pursue “wellbeing” simply isn’t sustainable. As a mother, caregiver, and practitioner, I found myself trying to care for everyone else while running on empty, searching for approaches that didn’t demand more discipline, more productivity, or more perfection.

What I needed — and couldn’t easily find — were practices that worked within the reality of a full life. Something nourishing rather than depleting. Gentle rather than extreme. Supportive rather than performative.

Over time, I began exploring traditions that honour cycles instead of fighting them: Ayurveda’s understanding of constitution and rhythm, seasonal yoga inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, and simple time spent in the natural world without agenda or expectation. These approaches didn’t promise quick fixes. Instead, they offered something far more valuable — a way of living that respects energy, emotions, changing seasons, and the different phases of life.

Slowly, I experienced a shift. Not a dramatic transformation, but a steady return to balance. Better sleep. More resilience. A sense of permission to rest when needed and to move forward when energy returned. Most importantly, a feeling of coming back into relationship with my own body and with the living world around me.

Reasons for Seasons was created to share this way of living with others who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of being told to push harder. The intention is not to add more to your to-do list, but to offer grounded, realistic tools that can be woven into everyday life — even when time, energy, and resources are limited.

Through seasonal guidance, gentle movement, nature-based practices, and education rooted in both ancient wisdom and modern understanding, this work aims to help people feel more steady, more resilient, and more at home in themselves.

You don’t need to be perfect, experienced, or “good at” wellbeing to begin.
You simply need to start where you are.

VISION AND MISSION

Vision

To help people reconnect with nature’s rhythms so they can live, move, rest, and heal in harmony with the seasons — not in constant opposition to them.

Mission

Reasons for Seasons offers gentle, accessible wellbeing practices rooted in Ayurveda, seasonal yoga inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, and nature-based rewilding.

This work supports sustainable health, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of belonging — both within ourselves and within the natural world.

Values

Cyclical living over constant productivity

Honouring that energy, motivation, and capacity naturally rise and fall. Rest is not failure — it is part of the cycle.

Inclusivity and accessibility

Wellbeing should be available to real people with real lives, not only those with time, money, or ideal circumstances.

Evidence-informed tradition

Ancient wisdom is valuable, but it is shared responsibly, thoughtfully, and in ways that make sense for modern life.

Gentleness over intensity

Sustainable change comes from compassion and consistency, not pressure or extremes.

Community and connection

Healing happens in relationship — with ourselves, with others, and with the living world around us.

Respect for nature

Nature is not just a backdrop for wellbeing; it is a teacher, a mirror, and a home.
